How do you like them now? I always thought the Chicks got a raw deal. I also thought it was strange that the whole country had a stroke because a country singer didn't like the president. I had hoped they wouldn't back down from the fight, but honestly, since I didn't pay too much attention to their political views beforehand, I didn't pay too much to the whole Chick fiasco. Other than to think war whores were stupid for giving a Chick's opinion so much weight, I haven't gotten involved. I DON'T CARE WHAT NATALIE'S OPINION OF THE PRESIDENT IS. I thought it was amusing that the war whores were so rabid, they couldn't even shut their mouths long enough to realize that THEY were the ones causing the Chicks all this unexpected publicity.
Do you really think this publicity has hurt their careers? They're on Primetime Live tonight, they have the above cover, and I predict they will now make the circuit of talk shows. And you'll watch because you want to make sure they've been hurt enough to satisfy your arrogant, superior, holier-than-everyone-else-on-the-planet egos. Are you so blinded by your "patriotism" that you can't see you've now given them their platform? You did it.
The US will be transfixed tonight, hanging on every detail of the patriotic deeds that have been done against the Chicks. They'll probably cry, because after all, they're only country music singers. I'm sure that will make you all feel like big men and women. You will have made a little country singer cry...aren't you the big, strong American.
Well hide and watch, America. Scandal is a double-edged sword. This is going to backfire on you the same as it will every time you try to Lord your values over another American.
When oh when will you get it through your heads that you can't shut us up? You can't muzzle another American just because you don't like what they say. You can't outshout us or outshame us. We may back off to regroup but we'll never go away.
I can only hope the Chicks are able to dish out a little shame of their own. If the words written on their bodies above have been used to describe them, you've got some shame coming. "Saddam's Angels"...really.
All I really want to know from the right is this; When did the Chicks get voted into office, any office? When did the Chicks stand up and say "We speak for all Americans"? They didn't??? Wow.
I tell ya what, since money and patriotism seem to be the only things that matter, try strapping this on; The chicks pay 50 times the American taxes that you do. They generate 100's if not 1000's of jobs. You can't muzzle another American just because you don't like what they say. You can't outshout us or outshame us.
Now is where you say "They should have thought about that before having an opinion!".
Wasted breath, I know. Food for thought, the people in Iraq now have more freedom to express their opinions than the people in America do.
