I want everyone to watch the news media turn Army Private First Class Jessica Lynch from an American soldier, fighting in the war on Iraq, INTO A GIRL.

Dateline's story on her told us her favorite food was strawberries.

60 Minutes' story relayed how she cried for 8 days.

She is described as a "petite blonde".

When was the last time you heard things like this about a male soldier? I've yet to hear one of them described by hair color. Or body stature.

When I hear Dan Rather say; "...the strapping young soldier with the dark wavy hair and the smoldering eyes...", then I'll shut up.

Until then, I'd appreciate it if you'd treat our soldiers like soldiers. Not girls.
