Sorry to have to post this phenomenal Keith Olbermann diatribe in two parts, but I can’t figure out how to post videos without going through YouTube. The awesome guys over at Crooks and Liars have this video posted not only in one part (with better quality), but also a written transcript.

What amazes me is this:

"Senator Kerry, as you well know, spoke at a college in Southern California. With bitter humor, he told the students that he had been in Texas the day before, that President Bush used to live in that state, but that now he lives in the state of denial.

He said the trip had reminded him about the value of education — that quote "if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you can get stuck in Iraq."

The Senator, in essence, called Mr. Bush stupid.

The context was unmistakable: Texas; the state of denial; stuck in Iraq. No interpretation required.

And Mr. Bush and his minions responded, by appearing to be too stupid to realize that they had been called stupid.

They demanded Kerry apologize — to the troops in Iraq.

And so he now has."

Has anyone read the line about Kerry being in Texas the day before? Which would, of course, prove that Kerry WAS slamming Bush and not the troops. I haven’t read that anywhere, nor have I heard the entire soundbite ANYWHERE. Not even on the so-called legitimate news sites.

Wow, talk about getting swift-boated. Now I’m not a huge Kerry lover, but how fair is it to only print one half of a statement? NONE of the legitimate new sites carried the entire quote. I looked.

Nothing I could say on this subject could touch the eloquence of Keith Olbermann. What he can do with the English language just makes me tingle. He is the most brilliant (and brave) wordsmith to come along in a while. I’m just glad he’s on our side.

And now I give you, Keith Olbermann...
